Good news for travel agencies that sell hotels: the PHPTRAVELS TripAdvisor integration is complete. TripAdvisor hotel reviews will be part of an upcoming PHPTRAVELS update, so agencies running PHPTRAVELS will be able to show real TripAdvisor ratings and traveler reviews directly on their hotel pages. Travelers get more trusted information in the place where they decide, and agencies get a stronger reason for those travelers to book without leaving the site.

In this post we explain what the integration adds, why independent reviews matter so much when someone is choosing a hotel, how the reviews will appear on hotel pages, and how the feature fits the PHPTRAVELS hotel module you already use.

What’s New: TripAdvisor Reviews on PHPTRAVELS Hotel Pages

The integration brings TripAdvisor hotel reviews into the hotel detail pages of a PHPTRAVELS booking website. When a traveler opens a hotel, they will be able to see what other guests have said on TripAdvisor next to the photos, room types and live rates your site already shows.

Here is where things stand today:

  • Development is complete. Our team has finished building the integration.
  • It ships in an upcoming update. The feature will be included in a future PHPTRAVELS release. We will confirm timing when the release is ready, through the PHPTRAVELS changelog and our social channels.
  • It is built for hotel pages. The goal is simple: give travelers trusted, independent information at the moment they are comparing hotels and deciding where to stay.

Why Reviews Matter for Hotel Bookings

A hotel is a purchase the traveler cannot inspect before arriving. Photos and descriptions are written by the seller, so most people look for an independent opinion before paying. That usually means opening another tab, searching the hotel name and reading reviews somewhere else. Every time a traveler leaves your site to do that research, there is a chance they finish the booking on someone else’s site.

Putting trusted reviews on the hotel page itself answers the traveler’s questions where they already are:

  • Is the hotel what the photos suggest? Guest comments on rooms, cleanliness and service give a second view beyond marketing copy.
  • Is it right for my type of trip? Reviews from families, couples or business travelers help people judge fit, not just price.
  • Can I trust this booking site? Showing recognized, third-party review content signals that the agency is open about the hotels it sells.

TripAdvisor describes its mission as aiming to be “the world’s most trusted source for travel and experiences” (About TripAdvisor). For an agency, borrowing that familiar, independent voice on its own hotel pages is a practical way to build confidence before checkout. We have written before about how product reviews help boost online travel bookings; this integration brings that idea directly into the hotel module.

How the PHPTRAVELS TripAdvisor Integration Will Appear on Hotel Pages

As the preview image at the top of this post shows, the reviews are designed to sit on the hotel page alongside the information travelers already use to decide: the hotel name, location, photos, rooms and price. The preview includes an overall TripAdvisor rating and a set of guest review cards.

For context on what TripAdvisor review content generally includes, TripAdvisor’s own developer documentation explains that its Location Reviews data covers the review title and text, overall and sub-ratings, trip context, reviewer information and any owner response, while Location Details include aggregated traveler ratings, such as average ratings for aspects like service, cleanliness and value. TripAdvisor also publishes brand and display guidelines so that its reviews are clearly attributed wherever they appear.

The exact layout and the fields shown on PHPTRAVELS hotel pages will be confirmed with the release. What we can say now is that the experience is built around real TripAdvisor reviews, shown on the hotel page, with clear TripAdvisor branding.

Benefits for Travel Agencies Using PHPTRAVELS

For agencies, reviews are not just content. They support the main job of a hotel page, which is turning a search into a booking. Once the update is available, PHPTRAVELS agencies can expect these benefits:

  • More trusted hotel content. Independent guest reviews add credibility that supplier descriptions alone cannot provide.
  • Greater booking confidence. Travelers who can read recent guest experiences on the page have fewer reasons to hesitate at checkout.
  • Fewer reasons to leave your site. When reviews are already on the page, travelers do not need to search elsewhere to validate their choice.
  • Richer hotel pages without manual work. Writing and updating hotel content by hand is slow. Review content gives each hotel page more useful detail.
  • A more professional storefront. Showing recognized review content helps a smaller agency’s website feel as complete as the large booking sites travelers already know.

These benefits apply to both B2C storefronts, where travelers book for themselves, and B2B agent portals, where sub-agents need quick, reliable information to recommend a hotel to their own clients.

How It Fits the PHPTRAVELS Hotel Module and Suppliers

The PHPTRAVELS Stays module is a hotel booking engine for travel agencies. It searches connected bedbanks, the hotels in your supplier extranet and your own direct contracts in one list, de-duplicates identical rooms, applies your markup rules and sends vouchers automatically. Hotel suppliers you can connect include Hotelbeds, RateHawk, TBO Holidays, Agoda, Stuba, Hotelston and Wanderbeds; the full, current list is always on our integrations page.

TripAdvisor reviews add a trust layer on top of that engine. Suppliers provide availability and rates; reviews help the traveler decide which of those hotels to book. A few points to keep in mind:

  • TripAdvisor is a review source, not a hotel supplier. The integration displays review content. It does not add bookable inventory, and agencies still need their own supplier contracts and credentials for rates and availability.
  • It complements the work behind each hotel page. PHPTRAVELS already matches the same hotel across suppliers into one record (see our guide to hotel room mapping). Reviews make that single, clean hotel page more useful to the traveler.
  • Your brand stays in front. PHPTRAVELS is self-hosted software that you own and brand. The reviews appear on your website, under your domain, alongside your prices and margins.

Availability and What’s Next

The integration is finished and will be included in an upcoming PHPTRAVELS update. We are not announcing a release date yet. When the update is ready, we will publish the details, including how agencies can enable the feature, on the changelog and on our social channels.

This is another step toward making PHPTRAVELS a stronger and more connected travel technology platform. Recent announcements on the blog include our PaymentCloud partnership for travel payment processing and our Hotelston partnership for hotel inventory.
